Where to start
I don't know what to do with my life
If you typed that sentence, you most likely don't lack options. You have too many. Work, health, your relationship, money, what you want to do and what you think you should: everything asks for attention at the same time, and no answer feels like the right one. You don't need to decide your whole life today. You need to know what to look at first.
The question is too big to answer
“What do I do with my life?” has no answer because it packs eight questions into one. How your body is, how your money is, who you live with, what you work on, what you do when you're not working, what you're learning, where you live, what you get up for. Each one has a different answer, and some are in much better shape than others.
When they blur together, the result is a general feeling that everything is wrong. It almost never is. Usually two or three areas are weak and colour all the rest.
What is usually underneath: dispersion
People who don't know what to do are rarely standing still. They start a course, change their routine, decide to save, think about quitting. They open several fronts at once and soon drop them all, because none got enough attention to move.
That is not a lack of willpower. It is the same energy spread across too many things.
Separate before you decide
The first step is not choosing a direction. It is splitting the big question into its parts and giving each one a number: from 1 to 10, how it is today.
Seen separately, the question changes. It stops being what do I do with my life and becomes which of these eight do I look after first.

One thing this week
With the numbers in front of you, pick the area where the distance between how it is and how you want it is largest. That is your starting point, not your life plan.
Then, one small action for this week in that area. One. The other seven are not abandoned: they stay as they are while you move the first.
Without having to explain it to anyone
Part of what holds people back is having to say it. Telling someone you don't know what to do with your life is hard, and it often gets postponed for that reason. You do this exercise on your own: nobody asks you anything and there is no person on the other end.
See your 8 areas separately
You score your 8 areas and see your wheel right away. No account, no card, no email, and without telling anyone. It takes about 8 minutes.
Do my wheel for free →wheelpath.app is not therapy or mental health care, and it does not replace a professional. If what you feel keeps you from sleeping, eating or working, or if you are in crisis, seek professional help or a helpline in your country.
Frequently asked questions
Is it normal not to know what to do with my life?
Yes. It happens to many people at any age, especially after a change: finishing your studies, a breakup, a job that stopped making sense. Being common doesn't make it less uncomfortable, but it does mean it isn't a flaw of yours.
Do I need to be clear about my purpose to start?
No. Purpose is one of the eight areas, not a prerequisite. Many people get clearer on it after sorting out what is most urgent, not before.
What if all my areas are low?
It happens, and it still isn't a good idea to tackle them all. Pick the one that weighs on you most today. You start with one.
Does this replace a psychologist?
No. wheelpath.app is not therapy. It helps you sort priorities; if what you feel is persistent sadness, anxiety that doesn't ease or thoughts of harming yourself, a mental health professional is the right place.
