How to choose

Which area of my life do I improve first?

Health, money, relationship, work: everything could be better and you can't handle it all at once. The right question isn't what is worst, but where a change would be felt the most.

The eight areas

To choose, you need all of them in front of you. These are the eight commonly used:

  • Health
  • Money
  • Love and relationships
  • Career
  • Personal growth
  • Fun
  • Environment
  • Purpose

Two numbers per area

You give each one two scores from 1 to 10: how it is today and how you would like it to be. The second is the one almost nobody asks themselves, and it is the one that puts everything in order.

The gap decides

Subtract one from the other. The area with the largest difference is the candidate. A 5 you would like at 9 weighs more than a 3 you'd be fine with at 4.

When there is a tie

If two areas have the same gap, choose the one that is on your mind the most today. There is no universal right answer: what matters is starting with one and not with both.

Three, not eight

Keep a maximum of three areas for the coming months and one action a week in each. The rest are on hold, not abandoned.

The numbers are yours. You don't need to show them to anyone for them to be useful.

See which gap is your largest

You score your 8 areas and see your wheel right away. No account, no card, no email, and without telling anyone. It takes about 8 minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Do I start with the area with the lowest score?

Not always. What matters is the distance between how it is and how you want it. A low area that doesn't bother you can wait.

How many areas can I work on at once?

Up to three. With more, attention is spread and none moves.

How often should I score again?

When you feel something changed, or once a month as a reference. Scoring again is what shows you whether the gap got smaller.

Is it useful if what I have is anxiety or depression?

It can help you put things in order, but wheelpath.app is not therapy and does not replace a mental health professional. If you need one, that appointment comes first.
